I'm making a pot roast. It is filling my wee house with delicious smells. The bathroom is sparkling clean, as is the kitchen. Outside, it is grey and chilly, threatening rain. That only makes the fire in the woodstove that much brighter, that much warmer. Two pudgy patchwork kitties are lounging on the sofa, purring away, eyes heavy lidded. I've NaNo ideas churning in my head, waiting to be unleashed come Sunday evening.

Screw money woes. I'll worry about that tomorrow. For tonight, I'm just enjoying these simple pleasures.

You are, as Candace put, content.

the ability to appreciate the simple things in life is a gift.

Money woes can be difficult, but as long as everything else around you is happy and content, nothing can break that.
