Upon Watching 'Hellboy' Again:
I really think this is the best comic book to film adaptation to date.

Mind you, I think Mignola's art is unbelievably striking and beautiful. That the film manages to capture the feel of his art, the color and use of shadow and composition, is beyond splendid.

I'm watching the cast commentary and having quality time with the kitties and all is right with the world.

Yeah it was pretty damn cool. Loved John Hurt, poor guys getting a wee bit long in the tooth tho.'

I know he had to age himself for the role!

True, he's still got a lot of good years of performance left.

I never saw it, nor did I have any inclination... maybe I should now that it comes so highly recommended... it just looked really dumb, you know? Stereotypical Bad Ass guy who looks ridiculous fights evil, blah blah blah. :P

It is still an action movie, make no mistake. But the character work is lovely, and WOW the Art Direction is gorgeous.

I think you'd really like it!
