First of all: What gives with our new RH leaving rehearsals early or not showing up for them at all? ::harumph::

I had my first fight rehearsal tonight. Next week's slot was cancelled, as said new RH was going on a family vacation, but it was all good as we had two hours to choreograph the lot tonight. Only he never showed. No message for me, either on my cell or at home, and no message for Dan (the choreographer). Again, ::harumph::

On the bright side, I had a really good time tonight. Dan was in a good mood; the choregraphy process was relaxed and - dare I say? - fun. And you know, rapier and dagger are my weapons. I've fought with many different weapons and combinations, but r/d is just right. The fight itself is going to be flirty/competitive/romantic, as it has to drive the scene to a specific conclusion. There are a few silly phrases, and then two travelling phrases that are just lovely. They cover ground, and the moves are clean, crisp and very interesting. There were a few moves that continued to trip me up; I figured I needed to get them locked into my muscle memory and I'd be fine. Dan actually took the time to suss out why it wasn't flowing naturally and fixed the problems. When I continued to grit my teeth over poor targeting, or forgotten moves, he made me stop. Told me - ah - let us just say he said very nice things about my fight skills. I'm not so comfy with the tooting-my-own-horn thing.

It was a good night. What a lovely surprise.

R/D rocks. Got a taste of it working with Dan this summer. Gonna try my level best to get in a safd course with Joe this summer/fall. Haven't picked up a weapon in months( not since Feb. w/ the guys from RHF and KAF) ick.

RH?
So what's an RH?
It sounds like a fight-director sort of thingy from the post, but I'm not familiar with the abbreviation.

Sounds like the fight will be sweet. Good luck with it!

Re: RH?
Robin Hood. Right.
So Silly of me. I suppose I really should make an effort to get up to NYRF some day.

Kick 'im in da shins if he keeps it up! That's what we do in Texas! (That, or we make them the target in 'Weight for Accuracy')...

holy crap? he totally didn't show? holy crap!
too many things buzzing through my mind now...he's not ready for the responsibility-he's too young-he's intimidated-he's not into it-his car broke down and his cell was stolen-
But damn, just damn.

Yeah, Hopefully it wasn't anything unfortunate, but if not...does he not remember what happened to a certain jouster last year for not showing up?

Ummmm....that's not good. I hope the person in question has a good reason for this and isn't just taking the rehearsals lightly. Who's got that role this year, NF? I'm assuming it's one of the people who has some experience jousting.
Kerryscreamingdolai on June 16th, 2004 08:41 am (UTC)
NF, are you kidding me? He's not even old enough to vote! RH doesn't have to joust, they never did long ago.

Good lord, NF as RH and Kel as M...wow, so much wrong there.

<>NF, are you kidding me? He's not even old enough to vote!</i>

I'm glad to hear it isn't him. I tend to think he's more responsible than that. (Your comment about thinking 'he's too young' was what made me wonder if it was N.)

RH doesn't have to joust, they never did long ago.

True, they don't *have* to, but it's what I'm used to-the RH's always did in the years I worked there and when I returned to visit the past two years.

Good lord, NF as RH and Kel as M...wow, so much wrong there.

My brain just fell out. I hadn't even thought about that... *L*

N/M
I just re-read the thread and saw picoland's comment. I think know who it is now.
