So, I posted on Facebook that my sister had never seen The Goonies.

Holy cow, but that exploded. There are strong opinions on both sides, and a surprising number of folks who've never seen the film.

Going to be totally frank, here. I know it's silly and goofy and probably hasn't aged all that well, but it speaks to the outcast in us all... and all of us have a bit of outcast. Never was a huge fan of Sloth, hated how the Truffle Shuffle demeaned Chunk, but... pirate treasure. Adventure. Friendship. Kids fighting to help their parents, to keep their homes, to stay together. It's lovely.

Also: it makes for a great t-shirt. And Josh Brolin riding a wee pink bike continues brilliant.

I've never seen it, either....but maybe it's about time. (See how open-minded I am? Plus I need movies to watch while knitting.)

You are admirable in your openness to new experiences. Go in knowing it's a bit cheesy in that 80's fashion and all will be very well.

Goonies is love.
Also I was so happy that the actress who played Andi was actually named Keri.

I so wanted to be her, from the moment I saw her in LUCAS. So gorgeous.... not unlike another Kerry I know.

I saw this on Facebook and again here (I'm trying to be diligent, but seem to be failing miserably!) and just had to say that I own Goonies (Steven and I love it!) and just bought Gremlins which (I forgot) has a very young Corey Feldman. 80's kitch still rocks!

And since I'm catching up today (and this is regarding an earlier post of yours) I just want you to know that despite all your self-deprecation you are still one of my favorite friends to read. I love your observations on life and your wit and love of life. Give yourself a break, okay?
