Kitty angst continues. Over the past few weeks, the older girls have been spending the better part of their days hiding in closets. Handsome Tom shoulders said closets that he might poke at them. There is growling and yowling and puffed-out tails. There are litterbox issues, bathtub issues and one very frustrated (but trying to remain patient) husband.

And yet...

Both older girls have been spending time outside of their closet fortresses. It may be five minutes here, fifteen there, but they're out and about and pretty chill. There has been no poo in the bathtub for the last three days (and as far as I can tell, no activity outside of the litter boxes). HT still pokes at the girls, but it's almost half hearted. He whaps a giant paw in their general direction, then trots off to play with Esme or his favorite toy (at present, a bit of duct tape wrapped plastic; why do I bother to buy toys?).

I'm not entirely sure what's caused this change. It may just be that everyone is finally learning to live with one another. Or, judging by the wee bald patch and scab on top of Tom's head, it may be that one of the older girls snapped, turned on him and let fly. Which, frankly, is exactly what HT needs. Whatever the reason, it's cause for hope.
