School Days
Yes, NYRF School Days are fast approaching. I've been told that I'm writing two scenes for it ("wha happened?!?") and I've yet to touch them. I've put in exactly oh, ten minutes of pre-joust training in walking the list on two separate days, one of which was so windy that the force of it against my shield all but blew me backwards. The horses will be back in a few weeks. I need to get my sorry butt on one of them as soon as possible.

On the veryvery plus side of things... I'm going to be fighting C.K.B. Yup, Marian against Queen Ororo Amina Nzinga, six-foot-tall gorgeous woman who moves beautifully. I've only fought her once before, also at a School Days performance. I was Mari then as well, and she was Killmore, one of the Sheriff's guards. We did a rapier/dagger fight that was a thing of beauty.

I wonder what we'll fight with this time! ::rubs hands in gleeful anticipation!::

Wow.. that's planning...
Scarborough Faire just opened this weekend, and we still don't know what the plan for School Days is. Of course, on School Days, we never had had a Scenario - it was all strictly improv. Of course, now that the whole show has no script, that's not much different...

Anyway - good luck with both the script and the fight. I'm sure they'll both come together nicely. There's nothing quite like choreographing a fight with a great partner. The creative energy is unlike anything else I've experienced.

Oh, and in the even you're wondering who the hell I am: I'm a performer at Scarborough Faire (As if you couldn't have guessed from the earlier comment) and I stumbled across your Journal in the NE_Rennies community. We met very briefly when the CP came down to visit last year.

Re: Wow.. that's planning...
Ah, Scarborough! Thanks to School Days rehearsals (more specifically, joust rehearsals), I won't be among the CPs this year. I'm truly sad. I love your faire, and had the very best time last year!

Part of the reason we're planning School Days now is that it happens before the run of Faire. We don't have a tight scenario. Just a couple of scenes and some dialogue before/during the Chess Games. The jousts are done simply as tournaments.

I hope you have a splendid run!

Gods, I can't wait. What with School Days right around the corner, that is. As I'm sure so many others do, I view it as a precursor to the upcoming season and jus a mere "tease" of what's to come. Of course, the two are unrelated plot-wise but always good to see everyone after what seems to have been so long of a winter.

Hey, K., remember my offer to help you two move if it's not too late.
