renewed determination

I wish I was one of those people who hit a certain weight/level of fitness and stayed there, indefinitely, with minimal maintenance. Alas, I am not. Despite teaching five or six kickboxing classes a week, I've been lax in attending any. Nor have I continued with my weight workouts or any other form of exercise. I've been eating badly, and too much, and yet somehow I'm surprised and horrified that I've gained so much weight and lost so much muscle tone.

While I am getting my nutritional habits* back under control, I need to focus on exercise. Yesterday, I hit the treadmill for 45 minutes, alternately running and walking. This morning I took a class; later, I hit the treadmill again. I need to add weights back in, maybe twice a week, and yoga or work on the exercise ball.

I've hit the point where I'm not just discouraged by being so very out of shape and doughy, I'm pissed off. No better motivator for me. We'll see if I can keep that up.


*our wee farmer's market opens at the end of the month, and I intend to take advantage of all that gorgeous, locally grown produce. I may be hitting you up for recipes and suggestions. you've been warned. :)
