stolen! I am an outlaw, I!
Stolen from silwen... sorry I don't know how to embed your lj-ness here!

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?

the things I like to cook. Comfort foods, mostly. Soups, stews. Chicken and dumplings. Lentil soup. Chicken and white bean stew. Homemade macaroni and cheese. Salmon chowder. Roasted garlic chicken. Great, lovely salads with made-from-scratch dressings to offset the aforementioned dishes. Fresh breads. Homey deserts, like apple crisp, huge chewy cinnamon-sugar cookies with homemade ice cream, marble cheesecake, pear galettes… fresh lemonade with mint…

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?

books. Without question. I would also sell the work of friends and acquaintances, who are so amazingly skilled: leatherwork, pottery, blown glass, jewelry, carving, cast stoneware, paintings and other art, needlework, yarnwork, herbs, handmade soaps and lotions…

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be?

teen/genre fantasy. I wrote a Maid Marian story, and am in the process of first revision. Then it’s back to the publisher to see if it’s viable…*eep* . The one I need to/want to write is the one I tried to write this past NaNo. Mad Gen was born of a short story, and wants a novel but, frankly, I’m not good enough yet.

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach?

Jousting. No, really. My fellow jousters and I have talked about starting a joust school. We’d teach horsemanship, stage combat and basic joust skills. We’d also have a huge Adirondacks-type lodge, with kick-butt food (see question #1 to get an idea as to what we’d serve). We’d do corporate retreats, and ‘management building exercises.’ Summer camp for kids (a mini-Ren. Faire of sorts… costuming, page/squire training, as well as all the skills I mentioned above). Then there could be music, dance, medieval crafts/cooking…

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?

I’ve recorded two, and am about to do the third… with the Crimson Pirates, though, so how much do you really get to hear me? Had I my druthers, I’d sing with Kelley, Karen and Robin.. the four of us, traditional tunes (and some of my original songs), with the option of drums (bodhran, tar, conga, djembe), pennywhistle, mandolin and guitar. And we would SO do Steeleye’s ‘Isabel.’
I hear: 'Rambling Irishman,' Oysterband

I *so* want to go to your school and eat at your restaurant.
Kelladyjoust on March 20th, 2004 11:44 pm (UTC)
yay! hey... if we slacker jouster-types get the school going, I'll comp you in.
Scoutcretey on March 21st, 2004 12:00 am (UTC)
Sounds good to me!

.....does your school need someone to teach baking 101 and perhaps "how to knit"? Cos dude....that sounds like a grand time indeed.
Kelladyjoust on March 21st, 2004 08:17 pm (UTC)
darlin', you're hired! stipulation being that you teach me to knit. 'cause I suck at that.
Stealth Chaos Butterflybunnymcfoo on March 21st, 2004 11:43 pm (UTC)
Yes'm. =) With glee.

Hey, I stole it from Briar, so we can be outlaws together... :P

I would so visit your restaurant/go to your school. Honestly. If you do start up a jousting school, tell me immediately. *grin*
Rhiacelticflamerhia on March 21st, 2004 07:42 am (UTC)
I would eat at your restaurant, go to your store, and DEFINATLY go to your school.
Kelladyjoust on March 21st, 2004 08:19 pm (UTC)
I can't tell you how absurdly delighted I am that y'all would want to let me teach you to joust and eat my cooking.

life is good! and you lot are lovely!!!!

Kelladyjoust on March 21st, 2004 08:18 pm (UTC)
well, it's not as if I'm actually doing this stuff... just wish I could! but I'll take those hugs any time, and give them back tenfold.

*tenfold hugs for Rache!*

Wow. I'm up for all of it. I'd eat at the restaurant, buy lots at the store, and read the book whilst listening to the album (which sounds like it would sit side by side with my Sandy Denny cds in the "most listened to" pile).

And while I'd happily (and eagerly) attend the jousting school, I'd equally happily offer to work/volunteer there.

so nice to be hearing (well, reading) your voice again!

Your answers are so interesting and cool! And I like the questions too.
