I'm feelin' crochet-y
ok, I though it was funny simply because it's close to 'crotchety.' *sigh*

Today I learned double and triple crochet, how to crochet through front or back loops and half double crochet. I also started on a scarf for Don. My wrist hurts, though.

I have a rather alarming notion that I could get addicted to yarn shopping.
I feel: soresore
I hear: "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' "... lovely Hugh!!!

Eh. I am addicted to yarn shopping...and I don't know how to sew/knit/crochet/any of that stuff. I just have random balls of yarn lying around...-_-;;

mmm... tactile-y goodness!

Y'know, I vaguely recall seeing hand-spun hand-dyed yarn at MD Ren Faire last year, and I'm already lusting after it. If the Pirates do MD again, I am soooo buying yarn I can't afford!

I've bought almost all of my yarn from these fabulous yarn-folk at the Union Square greenmarket. It's moorehead mills or something of the kind. They're one of three vendors, but theirs is the only truly beautiful, soft, and sturdy yarn. i made myself two verigated color scarves--one in reds and one in a weird green/purple/yellow that somehow really works together. this is also, sadly, yarn i can't afford.

i'm on the hunt for cheap acrylic, just so i can have something to play around with.

As you know I'm doing the knitting thing for the first time.
It's going so slow that I'm missing crocheting. Oh well.
I must keep going....

Believe me, it is quite easy to be addicted to yarn shopping. Especially if you go to tiny little yarn shops with adorable long-haired dogs and cats so fuzzy you can spin off 'em. Which reminds me, I'm nearly out of yarn...

Crocheting is fun. I prefer to knit, though. Knitting needles are pointier.

I only wish I could knit. I tried. Truly I did. My stitches were abysmally uneven. I'm hoping that if I master crocheting, I can give knitting another try, with (hopefully!) less pathetic results.

And may I sat I really hope I find a yarn shop with puppies and kitties ready to hand?
