SciFi tv babble/randomness
I'm so loving this season of Torchwood. Mind, I loved the last season, sprawling and messy though it was. This season, though... there's a lovely blend of humor and angst and drama and wittiness. Tosh isn't so mousy. Ianto has a spine (and adorableness. and awesome lines.) Owen isn't a complete and utter tool. Gwen is more self-assured. Still gorgeous. As for Jack... more echoes of DW Series One personality, which is YAY!

I'll blither on more about 'To the Last Man' later, 'cause I thought it was lovely and heartbreaking and World War I stories always get to me. For now, though, I'm feeling sick and bleargish, so I shall just mention:

it looks as if John Barrowman is a really, REALLY good kisser. Seriously.

Last season was cheesy fun, but this season is actually GOOD. It's so much better written for all the reasons you say above. It's like the writers finally _get_ the characters as people and are figuring out how to use them well. Gods I love Ianto this season. And...

Totally. I want to make out with John Barrowman SO BADLY!!!!!!!

I loved last season because it was pretty and fun and fairly terrible. This season it's pretty and fun, but... it's actually a good show. The characters are actual people! Not that it's not still crack *points to icon* but. A different sort.
