First of all, I have so much love and gratitude for everyone who has responded to my post about Dad's passing. Please don't think me a callous and uncaring sort for not responding to each comment individually.

Just so you all know, I'm okay, except for when I'm not. Today would have been Dad's 74th birthday. Cheers, Dad! I don't doubt you're partying with Grams while your own mother sips a glass of rye and tries to look as if she isn't rather scandalized.

It's strange the things one remembers. I'm rereading Neverwhere, and there's a mention of the Burt Bacharach song 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again.' First of all, how did I not know how cynical and depressing a song that was? Granted, I was three, but still... Anyway, Dad used to sing it to my sister and I with decidedly more upbeat lyrics: "What do you get when you fall in love? You get a little Kerry and a Kelly." Sheesh. I haven't thought about that in a million years.

On a joyous note, yesterday marked the tenth anniversary of my marriage to barleymash. Holy crow. How can it possibly be a decade? He still surprises me, still makes me laugh, still makes me cranky, still believes in me, and still makes me feel as if I'm a treasure. I hope I manage to do somewhat of the same for him.

and if you don't know the story of me inadvertently flashing everyone at our wedding, where the heck have you been? if I had it all to do over again, I'd buy a damned dress from the store. oy.

You should tell the story. Cause it will cheer you up! Really!

Mayhap if I get enough requests. It's rather embarassing, and I only mention it because if I don't bring it up first, someone else will.

Much love to you still. If you don't mind, I'll be borrowing your line "I'm okay, except for when I'm not".

Congratulations to you and Don!

I think you definitely need to tell the wedding story. Embarrassing stories are amazingly uplifting, even when they're about yourself.
