As promised, bad high school poetry. Only, it isn't really poetry, just snippets and phrases I really thought were stirring and profound. I may have been reading Anne McCaffrey at the time, but really? that's no excuse.

Lo! the universe tangles its great dragons;
The dragons in the cosmos are stirring with anger again.

There are dragons of sun and ice,
dragons of the moon and the earth
dragons of salty water
dragons of thunder;
there is the spangled dragon of the stars at large
and far at the centre, with one unblinking eye, the dragon of the morning star.

I will bear this shame all of my days.
I feel: embarrassedembarrassed

So, thematically...I'm seeing a trend towards dracophilia. Which is highly disturbing.

Only 'cause you haven't seen the horse poem. Or anything I wrote from the ages of eight to about seventeen, when I was one HorseCrazyGal. That would give you cause for alarm, believe you me.

But really: I started this little gem with "Lo!" *headwall/repeat* Was anyone lamer than me, ever?

Personally, I think the line "I will bear this shame all of my days" sounds VERY poetic. :P

All I can say is that it's everything I'd hoped for.

I don't think I can post the horse poem; LJ must have some sort of adjective limit.

One day, when you're a billionaire authoress like Ms. Rowling, your LJ friends will cash in on your success by sharing the above poem with Oprah. I hope you don't mind.

I only giggled at the star-spangled dragon. :)

That's because you're really, really nice.

That's not too terrible! Granted it sounds like it should be uttered by some gnarled old wizard in a D&D campaign. Wait...I make up gnarled old wizards in D&D campaigns and...oh...yeah.
