grawr. My lame garden fencing has not foiled the bunny (or whistle pig or unicorn or feral sous chef) that fancies parsley. Turns out that same parsley-fancying creature also enjoys cucumber seedlings. It's my own fault for going about this rather half-assed. I know that. Even so, I really really really wanted to get some actual produce from my wee garden.

Mind, I did pick a handful of green beans today. They were weighing the plants down. Mind, I have enough for about half of a single serving, and I've no idea how quickly - or even if- they'll grow back.

In other harvest news, there are two ripe grape tomatoes, just waiting to be picked. Another is decidedly orange.

the icon has nothing to do with the entry. it is one of my favourite lines from the whole of the first season of DW. I should figure out how to get an audio clip of CE saying that as a ring tone for my phone.
I feel: uncomfortableresigned
I hear: crickets

You have my undying love for thinking I'm funny. Not that I don't love you anyway, but still...

And so many, many smooches and homemade cookies (when I get a new oven) for Dan if he can help with my ringtone quest! I've got several things I'd be happy with, if only I had the faintest notion how to make them work.

I went to de-poop the yard this afternoon and discovered a fascinating hole. I have no idea what dug it, but it was perfectly shaped to break someone's ankle so I shouted into it and then filled it back in with the dirt that had been removed and piled on the side. I wonder if I have stealth gopher chefs...

set a feral sous chef trap.

And then make him cook for you.

please note: won't work so well if you end up catching a whistle pig. Lack of opposable thumbs you see.

I feel your pain. The aphids are running amuck in my roses.

I haven't tried this myself, but I've heard that scattering mothballs in the area will deter many critters.
