Girly Warning!
Question of a decidedly feminine nature:

Do any of you use a Divacup and/or related products?
If so, is it difficult? Uncomfortable? The Best Thing Ever?

I'm sort of thinking I need to consider switching over. Okay, that was beyond wishy-washy. I know I should consider - very strongly - using feminine products that are not so horrendously wasteful. Not sure why I'm nervous about this, but I am. So... help. Thanks!

I've heard good things about that kind of thing, although I've never used it myself so I can't really give you first-hand knowledge.

I use the divacup. For me it falls under the catagory "Best Thing Ever." Seriously, it rocks. I was able to use it pretty much immediatly, and had no problems with it. I've used it for about two years, and had no problems - I used to have The Cramps From Hell (rated PG13, coming soon to a theatre near you) and they have lessened recently, but I don't know if that's a DivaCup thing or a growing up a little thing. either way, I'm pleased and willing to attribute it to the divacup.

There's a DivaCup LJ community, and there's some decent info there including about four thousand ways to fold your divacup if you can't get it in. Seriously, it's like DivaCup origami.

Some people trim the stem off, but I never felt the need to. And I'm not squicky about the whole public restroom thing like some seem to be. I just wipe it off and put it back in, and wash it next time I'm at home.

You can ask questions. there was also a tread on 'roes not too terribly long ago you could probably dig up.

I use a Divacup and it is indeed quite possibly the best thing ever. I had some slight issues at first with it not opening all the way and leaking a tiny bit (and also issues with the stem, but I chopped it entirely off and now it's fine), but after the first few days I was absolutely fine.

I've used and loved the Instead cup, which is supposedly a "1 use" item, but which can be used a couple of times. I have a diva cup, but I have not managed to use it successfully yet. Embarrassing, but true.

never hear of one...wow...though i am usually so heavy i would be changing it too much. sigh, damn you female body

The divacup holds way more than a super tampon. I have to change a super tampon more than ever two hours on my heavy days, and the divacup I only have to empty at MOST four.

I gave up on any protection lasting through the nights on days one or two. I just went out and got a black towel and sleep with that under me. I'll leak, and it won't care. Or show.
