It is 2:58 a.m.

I went to bed at 10, woke at 1:05 and have been up every fifteen minutes since, checking my alarm clock and drifting back into uneasy sleep. I have to leave in about half an hour for New Milford, CT to take my Mom for same-day surgery at Yale-New Haven. Sit there for the better part of the day. Drive Mom home. Drive myself home.

It is going to be a looooooooooong day.

Clearly I was anxious about oversleeping. I had dreams about sleeping (out on the lawn, on a cot) and waking every few minutes. When I finally did arise (in the dream), the electricity was out. I went about the house lighting candles and fretting about not being able to take a shower. Also in this dream: Maureen Johnson and the brothers Green had urged their blog readers to make me lunch, since I had such a day ahead of me.

Sounds like a busy day ahead of you ... clearly your brain doesn't like sleeping when there are busy days. Silly brain.

Hope you've got a good book or three to read during the waiting times

I spent the day with kindergarteners (and my EVIL boss) at the zoo today.... does that make you feel better?
