behold, the invalid!
I picked Zinda up from the vet's this morning. Apparently the surgery went well, and Z. was her usual self once they put her into the cage: she had the bandage off of her leg (where they put the IV) within five minutes. She didn't eat much, but neither did she worry the incision, so all looks as if it will be very well. "She was very happy to see us this morning," the tech told me, "so she should be really happy to see you."

And so she was. She mewed and merved the entire ride home. I had my fingers through the door of the carrier whenever I could, and was rewarded with little Z's head butting against them over and over and over. Once we were home, she was in my lap almost at once. Every time I sit down, she curls up on me. I have never known her to be so snuggly. Likely this, too, shall pass as she heals. For now, though, I am enjoying the lack of crazy eyes/random leaping about/biting. I'm just happy she's healthy and that she's home.

Aw...it's nice when you can return the "I don't feel good" snuggles that they give you (except for the not feeling good!).
