serious Oracle

barring any difficulties with the inspection, Don and I have a house. we put a bid on it today, received a counteroffer and accepted same.

it's a small house, smaller than I wanted, but oh! the charm. it's on less land than we wanted, but the lot is level, pretty, and has gorgeous trees. there's a shed and a finished outbuilding (as in hardwood floor, cable and phone connections... may need a new roof, but no big). there's a new deck and a flagstone patio. the basement has an absurdly low ceiling (not uncommon in older houses) but the garage, which has been converted into a workroom, has more headroom.

I could blither on and on, and probably will as this process continues. we're signing the binder (I think that's what it's called) tomorrow. inspection will be in two weeks. then we need to get an attorney, sign gajillions more papers.

closing should be somewhere around April 30, with a view to move in at the end of May.

this. is. so. freakin'. cool.
