Busy day. Christmas shopping!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, today I went to Woodbury Commons and got a good start on the ol' holiday shopping. I had every intention of getting up early so that I could be there when the stores opened at 9 a.m. Yeah. More like 11:30. But the crowds were not unbearable and I found some kick ass sales.

Then it was a quick stop up at Middletown for yarn (not so much, but it was worth a shot; I need to seriously think about what I am making next (ie, find patterns or just make something up) and how much/what type of yarn I need). I did, however, buy myself a rosewood crochet hook. I know, I know - I should be buying for others first. But oh, I wanted it so very badly! Kitty gifts at the pet store. Unbelievably thick, well made and astonishingly inexpensive flannel shirts for Don at Tractor Supply with the bonus of cute guy in cowboy hat being very friendly. Grocery store for the makings of chicken and dumplings where I forgot to buy, of all things, the chicken. *facepalm* Guess we'll have that tomorrow night.

Home to haul wood, clear leaves away from our little drainage ditch to prevent our driveway from becoming an enormous ice slick.

I really ought to do some cleaning now, but I think I'll go finish watching 'Mad Hot Ballroom' instead. Which, by the way, is terrific so far except that when the kids have a disappointment, I get weepy. When they triumph, I get weepy. yeesh.

EDIT: 'Mad Hot Ballroom' just kicked my emotional ass. Oh, man. Wonderful movie. And Holy Crow, some of those kids are amazing dancers!!!!!!

I am so jealous Kelly- I LOVE christmas shopping! I think buying people gifts is much more fun than recieving them. But this year everyone is getting used books from my bookshelves because I A) have no money and B) have to clear out my bookshelves to make room for new books. THank goodness all my friends love reading!

Thanks for the review of "Ballroom" that's been on my rental queue for a while, nice to know it's good enough to move up. ;)
