Lo, I have returned!
Then again, you may not have noticed I was absent.

My sweetie took me to Vermont for a few days of pre-ski season hiking and all 'round relaxation. We stayed at a charming inn a stone's throw from the base of Killington. Our first day there, we got a foot of snow.

Now, that put a damper on the hiking. And we don't ski. And even if we </i>did</i> ski, the mountain isn't slated to open until the 10th of November, and so has no staff to speak of.

Still, we had a splendid time. We drove from wee charming town to wee charming town, ate a lot of fantastic food, visited the Long Trail brewery (Oh. My. Gracious. Heavens.) and, at long last, managed to get in a days' worth of hiking yesterday.

That's the quick update.

In other news, NaNo begins in a few days. *whimper*

If it's any motivation for you to have a go at it, skiing exercises the same leg muscles as riding and running. :)

BTW, how's the Tae Kwon Do going?

hope you stopped in at McGrath's at the Inn at Long Trail....
Long Trail brewery, a must go. Hibernator mucho carbs but very tasty!

that area is our "getaway" Mare's folks have a condo slopeside of Pico. Theree's a nice 10 mile loop that goes from rte 4 along the Long/App trail and loops around to end up by the Inn.

Oh! you guys would love McGrath's, (although they probably haven't started the music season yet - it starts with the ski season) they have irish music every friday and saturday night (I've always wished the Crimson Pirates would perform there!) It's a pub sing dream!! plus they make amazing nachos and a kickass Guiness stew!!

(and I did notice that you weren't around too!)

I second that whimper. I'm going to Florida for a week in November, and I just KNOW I'm gonna fall behind... but I'll try not to.

Love that part of the country at this time of year.
I noticed you were absent!:) and am glad your back.

NaNo -- just keep in mind that anything you write will be so much better than mine -- if that helps -- because of course you can write -- me, not so much.
