potential spoilers - albeit mild ones - for 'THUD!'

I've managed to avoid reading 'The Da Vinci Code.' Sure, it is a bestseller, but friends with similar reading sensibilitesto my own have assured me it is overrated. In other words, a bit of fun but not anything earthshattering. With so many other books awaiting my attention, I've put that one way on the back burner. In fact, it is in my pantry next to the blackstrap molasses I was so keen on buying.

Now, I am reconsidering. And it is all Terry Pratchett's fault. Koom Valley Codex, indeed. I know the gist of Dan Brown's book, so I get the joke. But I'm wondering if I'm missing nuances. That would be bad, and much with the cranky-making.

That aside, 'THUD!' is a ripping good story. Lots and lots of Vimes. So far, lots of Carrot, too, which makes me very happy indeed. Vimes/Carrot scenes? Even better.

Oh, and Vimes as a daddy makes me gooey.

I just finished 'The Da Vinci Code'. I loved it! I also love conspiracies!

Ahhh, I remember reading the Da Vinci Code.... I was working flyrail for 'The King and I' and had eight cues in 3.5 hours. It was a good distraction.

there's a new Pratchett novel?! that's vimes centric?! WITH BABY-VIMES?! :FLAILS:

Oh, this is much too good to be true. I've re-read 'men at arms' and 'night watch' and all the other Watch novels too many times, waiting for a new one.
