Oh, how I do ramble
It is rambling. It is random. You have been warned.

Sometimes, MMS's (Menstrual Mood Swings) aren't all that bad. Sure, you have those troughs, the depths, the nadirs, if you will. But you get the tippytop giddy heights as well.

I had my free archery lesson (comes with the purchase of the bow) today, two short months after the purchase of my lovely recurve jobby. Reese, the instructor, was fantastic. Very low key, articulate, patient, knowledgeable and funny. I did warn him at the outset that I tend to beat myself up if I don't succeed at a task instantly. Good thing, too. Although, for the first time out, I really didn't do such a bad job. By the end of the lesson, however, I was shooting for shite. Reese was chill. "Let's name these arrows," he said, moving to the target and the astonishingly horrible sight of Arrows Gone Awry. "Fatigue, fatigue, fatigue, fatigue and fatigue."

"Okay," I sighed. "I get it." And I'm drawing a heavy enough bow. For my frame, he would have recommended 5-10 lbs. lighter. Ah, well. I am strong like jouster. I'll get it.

I was going to go to Tae Kwan Do today, but after two hours of sword and shield last night and an hour-long archery lesson today (the fatigue that Reese cited was mental as much as physical), I decided to come home and take a nice jasmine-scented bubble bath. I know, I know. I should have sucked it up and gone to the class. I will go on Monday. I promise.

I pulled on jeans that were much looser a week ago (one of those famous MMS lows, there) and a clean black shirt (still don't have the dryer situation under control, so laundry is a bit behind) that is waaaaaay lower-cut than I remembered. And here is where the MMS spun on its heel and shot into the ether. "You know," I thought, "it's not so bad to be a bit curvy." Sure, I have a poochy belly. True, my hips are wide and of the child-birthing variety. But right now, I look pretty damned good."

Yes. It comes to that. Ah, so very shallow.

In other news, I really really really need to learn how to make icons. Ditto for using the scanner. I want more comic book icons!!! And I want to make one for bunnymcfoo!
I feel: moodyup and down, down and up
I hear: Nickel Creek
