Sod this!!!!
****warning: foul and bitter language****

I have a frelling huge-ass leak right in the middle of my living room. And now, since I am too much of an asshat to find a way to fix the spot where it is coming in, my roofer has to come back. Right now. And it will be dark soon, and still rainy, and he'll have to go up on the roof (even though I offered, to his horror) because I can not bloody well fix it myself.

damn. stoopid gorram house-owning shite.

Oh, yeah - the wainscotting that looks so charming on the ceiling will likely be damaged. I'm beginning to resent that blasted wainscotting. Sure, it looks rather nice, but the guy who installed it (before we even bought the house) did a half-assed job.

sorry for the potty-mouth.

Yeah -- sometimes it sucks to be the one responsible for the repairs -- I'm with you on that one. Tough to have to get a new roof in the rain.

Potty mouth under the circumstances is quite understandable. Good luck with the roof repair.

(It could be worse. At least it didn't start leaking when it was covered with snow and ice over the winter. You probably couldn't *get* a roofer to climb onto that. :-p I'm grateful that when that happened to the last apartment we lived in at least it was only leaking into the back porch area, and not into the apartment proper.)

Ah yes. I seem to recall a similar event at my house. My brother-in-law thought he was helping us out by doing the roof over the back porch. At the first rain we had leaks though out the porch and a couple traveled to my mothers bedroom. We never had a leak until he touched it.

*hugs Kelly gently*

I hope it is all fixed easily, and there are no more nasty surprises.

been there...got a mudroom with poor flashing on the roof so every time it rains, water comes through the door jamb.

I am so sorry about the roof, but I must say how you have made me chuckle at your foul language warning...you didn't use one bad word! I wish I had your restraint. :-)
