On the plus side, Dad is doing pretty well. He's been in the nursing home two weeks, and while he isn't walking on his own, he does have physical therapy twice daily. He's not even bitching (much) about it. Slightly worrisome is the fact that he is still on oxygen. Time will tell what that might mean.

On the negative side, Mom was admitted to the emergency room this week. She thought she was having a heart attack. The doctor countered that it might just be stress, and gave her an anti-anxiety med. Thing is, she is still having pain and palpitations. She's going to her regular GP on Friday, which tells me she is worried about this. Even better? She's been having these pains, and bone-deep exhaustion, since before Dad got ill.

::facepalm::

I took care of her today. I cleaned her family room top-to-bottom (she doesn't even have the energy to get out the vacuum, or dust) and did a dozen other things around the house. Then I took her to see Dad, to the grocery store and other errands. I unloaded the car and set up her new surge protector and went on an e-mail hunt to get a specific address she needed. I wish that I lived closer, that I might do this more than every other week. Not too much guilt here...

On the losing side, this is Day Three of the Diet, and I've not magically shed those pesky ten (fifteen, in my dreams) pounds. What gives?

Off to the treadmill and another episode of SG-1 - 'cause running toward yummy men is fun.

Good thoughts to you and your family...(Guy thanks you for yours).
I'm going to start a "re-induction" next week to try to take off another 10 as well.
As for John's above comment...I love House as well. Watched every episode. Hugh Laurie was also just cast to play Perry White in the new Superman movie!

Hey hon!

I'm glad to hear that your Dad is on the road to recovery, but sorry to hear that your mom isn't doing well. Continuous good health thoughts still coming your way for them.

In other news, you have earned yourself the quote of the day....maybe the week. Because I'm still giggling over your last line. :)
