this is really for the SG-1 fans...
... especially cretey and kachi113

From Season 5's 'Desperate Measures:' an exchange between Carter and O'Neill, after the latter has been shot:

CARTER: Sir, are you okay?

O'NEILL: I've been shot, Carter.

CARTER: I know. Your vest stopped one of the bullets.

O'NEILL: I want sleeves on my vest.

CARTER: You're gonna be fine. Help's on the way.

O'NEILL: I'm not kidding. They should put sleeves on these things.

Now you know why this made me laugh so.

Oh, my. That's quite amusing. It makes me happy when they say something so... relevant, in an amusing way, on the show. I did wonder why they don't have sleeves yet, actually.

Teehee. I like that conversation.

thanks for pointing that out!

Oddly enough, right before O'Neill said that, I had turned to Don and muttered, "They need sleeves on those things."

Followed shortly thereafter by, "I could write this stuff!"

Yeah. Don't I wish.

My mom does that to me, says lines right before the characters say them.

And then they say something unexpected and I laugh at her.

"Police officers use their arms hundreds of times every day," Arons said. "If they didn't have arms, officers would be unable to brandish or discharge firearms, handcuff perpetrators, operate doors, write speeding tickets, or file reports. A policeman's arms and attached appendages are essential."
