nipped from mirmie

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Bought a house. Made solid (not just breakaway) lance hits.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
While I didn't lose much weight, I didn't gain a lot, so... not so bad. I didn't write as much as I meant to, and I'm no better on pennywhistle. A bit better on bodhran, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but there are littles in the works...

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not close close, but someone who touched my life...

5. What countries did you visit?
U.S. only

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
No frelling psoriasis, thank you. A literary agent. Slim thighs.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Erm... the day I took a lance to the face? The day we closed on our house. The two hurricane days from Faire.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Closing on our house.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not yet being published. Not having a better handle on my finances. Not having a better handle on my health (especially the damned skin) and fitness.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Other than psoriasis, which continues annoying and frustrating, the Big Freaking Black Eye from getting hit in the face with a lance might count.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Have I mentioned we bought a house?

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
All of you who put up with me on a regular basis.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Mine. Our President's.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Mortgage. Bills. Books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Jousting, again. What a joy!

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
I have no idea. Honestly.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier, mostly.
ii. thinner or fatter? if we're talking net, a wee bit thinner - but not thin enough. eep.
iii. richer or poorer? ever so much poorer!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing. Getting my life more organized. Stage combat. Writing. Hiking. Crocheting. Writing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Hating how I look. Doubting my talents.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Eve: at the in-laws. Day: at my folks'. Day after: babysitting in the morning, then the rest of the day with my hubby: chores early on, then as dusk fell, champagne by the tree while we opened gifts.

21. How did you spend New Year's?
Lovely dinner at a splendid local inn, then watched Stargate SG-1 until midnight. Chocolate dipped strawberries, then bed.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Um... not love.

23. How many one-night stands?

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Newest obsession: Stargate SG-1.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

26. What was the best book you read?
I'm supposed to choose one? Okay, I'm going to go with Kenneth Oppel's 'Airborn.'

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Old Blind Dogs. I already had one CD, but I found I reallyreally loved them, and they were Music To Write By during NaNoWriMo.

28. What did you want and get?
A house.

29. What did you want and not get?
A pony - or, more specifically, a joust horse. Not that I don't love my Oso...

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I went to friends' annual holiday party. I turned... y'know, y'all don't need to know just how creaky I am.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting published - but that is my own bad, really.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?

34. What kept you sane?
My friends, RL and online.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Hmmm... thanks to my newest TV show obsession and PK Wars, I'd say tie between Ben Browder and Michael Shanks.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The presidential election.

37. Who did you miss?
I've not done a lot of IMing this year... I miss ratesjul and caragana_leaves and leaflette. I'd say bunnymcfoo, but at least I got to see her for a few days this summer, in person!

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I met some fantastic new people at faire. Sharing books with somnascream was an honour and a joy.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
A mortgage is Scary.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"Storms always fade after they've had their way... they're never as bad as they seem"

Hmmm, now I know I've said this many times. I think the best thing I ever heard was from Tyra Banmks, who I think many people think is gorgeous. " girl I got cellulite, it's called air brushing"
Granted we all see ourselves way different in the mirrir than other's see us. ALl I will say though is this. Girl if you got any thinner I'd have to snapn you!
You're perfect , but hey that's just my thought.

needs a shakin'
I've got to agree with kymbelina on this point too.
(putting my hands on your shoulders and shaking just a bit)
Kelly, repeat after me. "I am not fat. I am not fat."
Now go believe that, OK? (Hugs)

Re: needs a shakin'
I honestly do not think I am fat. But my thighs, which were in decent shape during the summer, are jiggly and do not fit into my smallest jeans once again. That's all.

*misses kelly*

If not this summer, then most definately the summer after I graduate, and then I'll *crossfingers* be in New York for school and you'll be sick of me in a few months. ;)
