I've not yet thought too much on resolutions or life changes, but I'll mull that over in the not too distant future. For now, I can tell you that I had a thoroughly lovely holiday. Slept in a bit yesterday, which was heavenly. Went to see 'The Incredibles' - finally!
Then, Don and I came home, got pretty and went to dinner at the Iron Forge Inn. Splendid, splendid! The food was outstanding, the service excellent and the tap room was just beautiful - lots of wood, exposed beams, twinkly white lights. We had a seat right near the huge old fireplace. Don opted for the herb crusted pork loin, while I went for the pan-seared salmon with a gingered slaw. And dessert? Oh, Belgian chocolate mousse with strawberries marinated in port wine. Don got the astoundingly yummy creme brulee with raspberry sauce. Much joy all round.
Home, then, for a couple of eps of SG-1 by the fire, chocolate covered strawberries at midnight and then bed.
Today we got up at 8:30 (again, felt decadent to sleep that late) and went hiking with my sister in law and her brood. We hit part of the Appalachian trail and went to the top of one of the local mountains. The view was glorious. An excellent start to the new year, methinks.
