Harumph.
The following is petty. I know this. Even so, I vent.

Just watch me go.

For the past several years, we've done a cookie exchange at work. Everyone chooses a type of cookie to make and then makes a dozen for each person involved (for reasons of sanity, we normally keep it limited to 10). Every year, I've made my chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Sure, I'm capable of baking other cookies, and very well, thanks. But they've been requested. This year was no exception.

So. The person organizing it is really on top of things. The list of participants and the cookies they would be making was posted. Turns out another person was making oatmeal raisin cookies, but no big. Then... one of my managers, a last minute entry, wrote in he was making chocolate chip oatmeal raisin cookies. Um, dumbass? Didja look at the list? Notice what people are bringing?

I snarled and gnashed a bit internally. Upon seeing said manager today, though, I swallowed all of that and said I'd make another cookie (cinnamon-sugar butter cookies; most yummy, but still...).

To my immense delight, one of my coworkers leapt all over said manager. "If your cookies aren't as good as - no, better! - than Kelly's, I'm going to be really mad at you!"

I think I'm going to have to make a batch just to make sure she gets some.

Yeah, I warned you it was petty. We're talking Christmas cookies, for heavens' sake. Still moderately cranky.

Ah, forget about petty and strangle the manager.
