Victory is mine
50k, my friends.

It's a big sprawling mess. A lot of it is crap. My characters have changed hugely over the course of the book, so much so that they bear little resemblance to those who began this journey. My villain's motive did a 180. My plot is wobbly at best. I have threads that seemed so very promising that are left, dangling and forlorn at around 23k, 40 k, and oh so many other places.

But it is done. And while it is partly crap, it is not entirely crap.

Now a moment of 'why the hell do I have to be married to a supremely talented writer?' Love him lots, but can I be as good as him at something, please?

And no, jousting doesn't count.

I knew you could do it.

Oh, and my mom and I were talking about how I can't go on my New York trip with drama and how we might go to NY on our own... and she said, "Would you like to spend a day or two with Kelly while your dad and I are with his cousins?" !!!?

*socks are rocked right off her feet and across the room* AWESOME!!! I bet that if you set your novel aside for a while, it will look much nicer when you come back to it. And if not... you still finished with flying colors, and that is the point of NaNo, isn't it? Congratulations!!!

"And no, jousting doesn't count."
it does if you do it right[and you do!!]
and it's not the mount of tossed ideas, mounds of balled paper
or the hrs of mental agnst in the end. it is the final work and it'll be great!!though if you're like me even after printed you'll have parts you wished you've done different
best wishes

Wow! Congratulations - not only did you make it, you made it *two days early*! Considering where you were a few days ago, I figured you'd be writing right up to the deadline. I'm so impressed by the comeback.

I didn't realize Don was doing NaNo too, so please pass my congrats to him as well. :)

I'm not sure if I could write that much if I had to do ANYTHING else. It'd keep me busy if that's all I did.
