Handsome Tom is, as his name states, a handsome cat. He's snuggly and sweet and playful. He is also a bit of a prick. Just ask the older cats. They'll tell you. In an effort to avoid HT's playful but apparently terrifying attacks, they spent months hiding in closets, emerging only to use the litterbox and to eat. Isabeau's much better now. Her new preferred spot is in the big bay window, and while Tom sometimes looms and plays the 'I'm not touching you' game, she stands her ground. Jilly, though, still spends most of her time in the linen closet. That's why I was so delighted to find her in the kitchen a few days ago, watching the birds and enjoying the weak winter sunlight.

Of course, such happiness could not go unsullied.

This is Jilly.

This does not bode well.

"He's still there, isn't he?"

HT crept closer.

"I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you! What? Isabeau loves this game!"

*sigh*

About ten minutes later, he got all puffed up and chased her back to the closet. She needs to turn around and whap him. Ah, well. At least she came out of her own accord in the first place. That's progress.

It has come to my attention I have a lot of pictures of Esme yawning.

ROTFL at the "He's still there, isn't he" photo! What a stinker he is!

And since we're on a yawning binge, I used a proper icon.

We had the opposite problem for a while. The calico terrorized the black kitten to the point that he couldn't eat or go to the litter box unless Mom or Dad was in the room. He finally figured out a couple of years after he got bigger than her that she could no longer hurt him. I've actually seen them playing together in the last year. So there is hope.

You are ever so sweet, and a balm for my poor, self-doubting soul.

Stay my friend??

My honor and my pleasure! We'll have to find time to actually hang out, in person, this year.

I think so, too. How are your own lovely kitties faring?

They are doing well. I have recently replaced my camera, and as soon as I figure out it's buttons I'll get some photos.

Great Photos! My animals all stop what behavior they are doing as soon as they see the camera! and my Mokey-kitty is really hard to photo, since he won't stay still for the camera! (but I did get a good video of Mokey & Monty playing yesterday...something I've been trying to get for a while now!)

I love the Esme yawning pics, so cute!!!
Your kitties are all gorgeous & adorable!!
