My husband is lovely. He says he doesn't feel quite right getting me things for the kitchen, that perhaps he should be buying perfume and lingerie and fripperies. Truth be told, it's kitchen stuff I want. So while he did get me Lush lotion and one item of lingerie, he also got me a small cast iron casserole and an over-the-sink cutting board/colander and this:

title or description

~~shallots not included~~

*GRIN!*

When I mentioned I wanted a Le Creuset Dutch French Oven, I also made sure he knew there was a store at the outlet center. I didn't care about the color. It could be PoMo pink or Cerenkov blue and I wouldn't give a fig. As it is, this gorgeous cherry red beauty was relegated to outlet-dom because of a single, tiny, barely noticeable lump in the bottom of the pan. Crazy, right? Not that I'm complaining.

Also worthy of note: I received a goodly amount of B&N gift cards from my mom and sister. It's been so long since I've wanted books for Christmas; I was always able to get what I wanted right away, or borrow it, while I was at the bookstore. I do not miss the commute and I decidedly do not miss all of the annoyances, great and small. But I do miss the booksellers who cared about what they did, who cared about books, and I do miss being surrounded by stories.

Speaking of books, huge holiday thanks and ::hugs:: to ratesjul. I can not wait to read the book you sent; I'll probably steal some time tomorrow. The necklace is absolutely lovely (and my joust colors!), and, as always, the calendar will hold a place of honour. This year in particular I'm going to look to it for inspiration as I try to learn how to use my camera with some basic skill. I'm years away from taking the kinds of photos you do, m'dear, but I can dream!

Oh PRETTY. That's my favorite Le Creuset color!!!

I have to say I agree with you. Given the choice between perfume/lingerie and kitchen stuff, I'd choose the kitchen stuff any day :)

My guess is that a good Dutch oven will prove more effective than lingerie or perfume: nothin says lovin like a dutch oven!

You'll be needing some of our homemade bacon for your braises....

*grins*

I'm sure you'll like the book... As for the photos, you'll get there, I'm sure. I'm back at square one again (or so it seems) as I have a new camera that I'm trying to figure out.

*drools* I want!

Dan got me a 6 cup food processor! It's the second best gift I got this year! (My mom knitted me a blanket out of fuzzy yarn, and that wins best.)

We've been thinking of getting the Blue one of those (also from an outlet store) for sometime ourselves. Very nice piece.

I love mine -- I actually a couple of different sizes, shapes in blue. And remember, it's dishwasher safe...even if you don't have a dishwasher now, you may in the future. The dirty pots go in and come out nice and spakny clean!
