I ate a brownie for breakfast. From there, it was all downhill. I'm just going to go ahead and make leftover turkey and stuffing sandwiches for dinner and count on tomorrow being another day with no mistakes in it.

On the bright side, I went to the eye doctor. My vision has not deteriorated greatly since my last visit (two years ago. oops!), and I had a delightful chat with Dr. G.* Also, my new glasses are going to be plain, black and rectangular: brainy specs!

*I think I managed to convince him that if his wife has actually expressed an interest in owning a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer, then he should get over feeling guilty that he's giving her kitchen stuff and buy it, already. With a spare bowl.

Simple joys. Really, aside from books and geeky things like Comicon tickets, nothing makes me happier than kitchen supplies.

I love it when I get fancy kitchen stuff.

Me too! Aside from a dutch oven (I think my chances are excellent; I asked for a Le Creuset, and even directed my husband to the outlet store), I really want a flat whisk and some new wooden spoons. I'd rather like a replacement for my medium-sized stockpot, too, but I can make do.

We have a Kitchen-Aid stand mixers can have extra bowls?! I hate having to do dishes between making a cake and making frosting.

Yup - you can buy additional bowls. Which, I might add, I do not have. The batter/frosting clean-up dance is exactly why I suggested my eye doctor just man up an order the second bowl.

Also, have you heard anything about the ice-cream making attachments? It's potentially awesome and - dare I say? - life changing, but I've read some seriously mixed reviews.

I made three cakes (two for my birthday, one pumpkin cake for Thanksgiving) and mashed potatoes this weekend. It was a dishes nightmare (but oh so worth it).

We have an ice cream maker so I have not explored them at all, all I know is what you already know, reviews are mixed.
