I'm a bit of a pioneer girl these past few days. I re-seasoned a cast iron skillet, though I've yet to cook in it. That's for tomorrow night. I chopped and hauled firewood and kindling. I made beans. One might argue that it's not pioneer-y to use a crockpot, and that may be so. But I don't have a dishwasher; I have to clean everything by hand, so that must kind of... um... even out.

What? Of course I have hot and cold running water and plenty of dish soap. What's your point?

Bah. It does sort of fall apart there. But I am seriously badass with a maul, and no mistake.

Hey Laura, don't forget to wear your bonnet or you'll get as brown as an Indian!

(For the uninitiated, that is a quote from the Little House books, not meant to be racist)

So when is the livestock coming? Llamas maybe?

Enjoy the cast Iron skillet. We got one for our wedding and have used it often...although it's so against the programming to not "clean" it :)
