So. Ringtones.
Now that I have a phone where I don't have to pay for special ringtones, I find I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time thinking about them.

What ringtone would I want to identify a call from me? Hmmm. I'm not completely sold on this, but I'm rather keen on the Torchwood theme. It's a really cool pulsing beat that tells folks, "I have to take this. Sorry. It's classified." To be fair, that may be the perception I'd like people to have of me: savvy, slender, well dressed, great hair, pet pterodactyl. The usual. But what would actually suit me? Maybe the 'Fairy Dance' from the latest Peter Pan soundtrack. Or Dar Williams' 'When I Was a Boy.'

Heads up, flist, for here is my question for you: what ring or theme or snippet of song would best represent you? Or do you have ringtones that would be perfect for your sister or dad or boss, your best friend or your pet pterodactyl? Share!

I only have one special ring tone. When Kevin calls I hear the theme from Hook. So I'm not all that savvy.

So because i'm totally inappropriate I'll just suggest 'Me so Horny' by 2livecrew.

Do they make a TARDIS ring tone? That would be pretty sweet.

Right now I would want the x-files theme, or something from Doctor Horrible. Or "Baby I Love You" by the Yayhoos. I'm not sure.

Oh, on that note that you can have ringtones for specific people which I generally don't but.... My best friend's ring tone for me is a recording of us laughing hysterically at this song we found that was terrible.

For people I don't particularly like receiving calls from I'd go with "Baby I Love You" because the lyrics are "Baby, I love you, but leave me the fuck alone."

The BBC used to have the soundbyte on their website, intended to be used for phones. :) I don't know if they do since they've changed it.

I...like to change my ringtone a lot, but I never get around to it. Right now, it's the Bones theme song, and before that, it was the Skins theme song. When I was in Holland, I had Doomsday for a while, and the TARDIS.

I just like picking little snippets of theme music. I think it works better than music with words.

I don't actually do special ring tones ... but people have tones for me on their phones. Most of them have to do with being naked. I hadn't even heard half the songs before, but somewhere in them is a line about taking off clothing.

I identify with One Week by BNL ("I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve, I have a history of taking off my shirt"). See? Even I pick songs with no clothes.

But there are lists of songs one can claim. Most people have many. In fact, I have a list to be played at my funeral. THREE versions of "My Way" are on it (Frank, Elvis, Syd Vicious). The viewing would last only as long as the playlist. No speech, just the music. I thought I was so original, but my brother told me this week that he actually has plans for a CD that would be given to every ... guest? ... at his interment.

Music and people. Seems to be a very strong connection.

I know that on a couple of my boston friend's phones the ring tone for any of the other radical cheerleaders is us cheering "WE'RE BUTCHY, WE'RE FEMME, WE'RE TRANSGENDER GIRLS AND MEN!"

I don't get to have special ring tones.

Welcome to iPhonedome bebe. Its a beautiful place to be! I got mine not too long ago and :celine dion: LOURVE :/celine dion: it. :)

Well here are some old and new ones I have.

Mom - the Ominous duh duh duh DUUUUUUMMMM!

Ed - Went from "Big Pimpin" to "Dey Know", which is relevant because the snippet I have goes "Hello! Hello! Dey Know! Dey Know!"

My Boothies - The last part of Dr. Horribles "My Eyes"

Rennies - The very beginning of Dr. Horribles "Freeze Ray" just the little bum, bum, bum, bums up until just before he starts singing.

My Boss - Talking Heads' "Road to Nowhere".

:)

That was fun

For the past two years or so, I've used the Algorithm March for mine. Except for one exceptionally dramatic person...who I use the "horror show" tone that came in my phone, which basically sounds like a scene from Psycho (REEEE! REEEE! REEEE!), lol...

BUT! I am on the quest for a very specific ringtone...I want the ringtone Dr. Horrible uses for Bad Horse. As it sounds in the movie. THAT would get me to change.

The Doctor Who theme is my default right now. ^___^

For me my friends have the theme to Fraggle Rock and The Duck Tales theme.

Personally, I would love Xander and Anya's song from the Buffy Musical episode and/or the theme to The Office...because I love to bounce along to it.

For my pseudo-emo daughter, "(Had a) Bad Day".... my "Junior Percussion Engineer" son, a bass/snare drum cadence thing...for the one office I hate working with, "Cellblock Tango" (They had it comin.... what I'd like to do to some of the incompetents working there).

My husband - the theme I used as my wedding processional when my kids walked me up the aisle in Israel when we got married....'

Text messages - "Tortuga score, two hornpipes" (from PoTC)....

That's all I can remember specifically...

I like the ringtones for specific people - makes it easier to be able to ignore the call if I know who it is and I am busy.
