*buggrit buggrit buggrit*

HT's paw is sensitive and squishy. Looks like the abscess is back. GAH!

OH NO!

Snuggle him for me! Arc was always so sad and little-kid-sick when he had abscesses. :(

I'll snuggle him; he's all about the snuggles ,no matter the ouchy.

Thing is, I wouldn't have even known if I didn't do a quick, "Hey, Tom, let me take a look at your paw..." and he snatched it away, mrowling, and was grumpy for a good few minutes. After that, he didn't even want to let me touch it - though he did, 'cause he's an awesome kitty even in his pain. And lo, there was squelchiness.

Man. I feel like the worst kitty mom ever.

Trust me - you aren't. My mom once stopped bringing a cat to the vet because it got so morbidly obese that she figured the vet was going to lecture her about the weight. So no more rabies shots for Jaba the Spot. (As she was named, post morbid obesity.) She ended up living till she was about 17 anyway.

You are a *good* kitty mom. Excellent even.

A bad kitty mom wouldn't have bothered taking him to the vet to begin with.

Or bothering to check to see if the paw was ok later.

That is not you.

Abscess can be persistent, and paws are not exactly easy to keep clean or germ free.

None of that makes you a bad kitty mom. You care. You check. You are helping him.
