Over the past couple of days, our hot water has gone from hot to quite warm to what I shall charitably call 'well, it's trying.' This is somewhat distressing considering we just had a new water heater installed in February. Turns out it's one of the two thermostats. They won't be able to order the part until Monday. At this point, the water is full out cold. Bah. BAH!, I say!

I feel: coldbrrr

My grampy used to tell us how when he was a kid they didn't have running water, much less hot running water, and they'd heat up water on the stove and dump it into a metal tub and bathe in that.

I've had to do that, more than once, when my oil heat failed at my old house.

Well not the metal tub part, but buckets of water in/near the tub, wet, lather, rinse.

Is showering at the gym/school an option?

Cold water doesn't work well for dishwashing either. :-(

I did find that if I heated the big stockpot of water to boiling and kept it covered, it'd stay hot to warm for several hours.

I hope they can get the part and do the fix fast!

You are sincerely welcome to shower herezn if you can stand the chaos.
